Stucco or render is a material made of an aggregate, a binder, and water. Stucco is applied wet and hardens to a very dense solid. It is used as a coating for walls and ceilings and for decoration. Wikipedia Stucco was first introduced in the later part of the 18th Century. It was widely used as it was a cheap alternative to the fashionable stone. Areas such as Bath that was near to the quarries used the local limestone but other areas used Stucco as it had the appearance of fine stone.
